In the Bhagvad Gita, Bhagvaan Sri Krishna sanctifies the three commandments of Sanatan Dharma, namely:
1) Yagya (Thanksgiving service)
2) Daan (Charity)
3) Tapah (Sense control / Self control)
"Maanav sewa hi to Maadhava sewa hain" Service onto mankind (charity) that is offered selflessly without an expectation is direct adoration to Him.
The Hindu Society of Berbice once again together with it's generous supporters carried out their annual Diwali sewa, distribution of grocery hampers to poor families in guyana on the occasion of Diwali. Over 30 communities were once again served. Poor families, single mothers/fathers, senior citizens were targeted as recipients of the distribution. It took days to prepare the hampers and equal amount of days to distribute. Please do have a look at this years' pictures.
We thank our Bhagvaan for giving us this opportunity to serve, for He is our strength and inspiration. We thank our generous supporters especially the devotees who attended the Navratri celebration at the New York Hindu Milan Mandir on Lefferts Blvd. Richmond Hill. We thank that noble organization for assisting us greatly. A hearty "koti dhanyavaad."
 Hampers packed !
Loaded and ready to go !
 The distribution !
 The Smiles !
Even children were treated with bags of goodies !
 Smiles all around!
Truly a time to embrace !
