Sri Satyanarayan Vrat Katha
Thursday, 10 May 2007

Image Worship to Lord Sri Satyanarayan (Sri Maha Vishnu) is an integral part of Sanatan Dharma. This auspicious narration comes from one of the 18 puranas, the Skanda Purana. It’s in the form of a dialog between Lord Vishnu and Sage Narada. Here we bring you that episode of the Sri Satyanarayan Katha. His worship is one where the devotee gets to shower the lord with his prema and bhakti (love and devotion), in return the four rewards of life are fulfilled : dharma (spiritual need), artha (material need), kaama (personal need), mocha (liberation). We urge followers of sanaatan dharm to perform this beautiful rite.

We know of Her as the daughter of Raja Janak and Raani Sunaina, the eternal spouse of Sri Ram, She is Sita, the energy of the earth.  We accept Sri Ram as the ideal (Maryada Purshottam), then what about Sri Sitaji?
